The air was filled with creativity and inspiration at Toronto Design week January 20-27, 2013. The Metric team made it out to touch, taste, smell, hear and see all that Toronto had to offer. Being in the big city is always exhilarating and we had all of our senses on high alert for anything innovation, new and interesting. A trend that I noticed was irony and surprise in design. We saw ceramics that were made to look soft like a quilt or embossed to look like leather. These illusions are fun, ironic and always keeps the viewer guessing.
