JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER & SALES ASSOCIATE- METRIC DESIGN CENTRE
Metric Design Centre is looking for an outgoing, energetic & passionate JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGN CONSULTANT to join our leading team of designers, and retail showroom.
Metric design offers an award winning concept for Saskatoon. Our unique downtown boutique style showroom offers a retail showroom combined with an interior design studio. Our Design Centre is a place where designers, trades, contractors, & technologists come together with clients and interior design samples & products all in a single location.
When working in Design, Metric offers a fun & collaborative environment where you will work alongside our innovative team of designers, and directly under Interior Design Professional Tamara Bowman. Metric will offer you the opportunity to grow and advance in your Design career like no other company, as you will have the opportunity to have hands on involvement in so many types of projects. Here you will have the opportunity to influence and utilize your own designs with Associate Designers and Clients and actually watch them grow and come to life. Additionally, the diverse experience that you will obtain in this position is vast, as Metric is involved in both commercial and residential projects from consulting and decorating, all the way to managing a complete new build or renovation.
This role will require the successful candidate to absorb a vast amount of knowledge of our products and be able to assist clients in purchasing them. We focus on quality products, custom pieces, unique designs, and service excellence. While working in the showroom applicants should be organized, outgoing and driven in a retail sales environment. The candidate should also have excellent communication skills, be motivated, social and comfortable seeking out new relationships both inside and outside of the workplace. The candidate should value keeping themselves and the space around them clean and organized. Additionally the role may include cash management, inventory control, visual merchandising and generally maintaining the showroom. The ability to lift and move furniture and tile will be required.Crossover between the showroom and the design work is a large part of the Metric philosophy.

Applicants must have completed their Interior Design education, and related field experience and/or retail experience is a large bonus. The position will be full time.
