Owner & Creative Director / Queen ‘B’
As visionary and Creative Director, Tamara carefully oversees the conceptual design and development of Metric’s design and renovation projects right through to their completion. From the introduction of quality building and finishing materials, to creative and innovative products, she leads her team with a progressive and purposeful approach where innovation and practicality are balanced, while ensuring each client receives an individually tailored project. Tamara’s innovative and eclectic aesthetic is paired with the need to hone in on the clients function and feeling within a space to provide an effortless reflection of the client’s personal style.
Prior to incorporating Metric Design Centre, Tamara built her business out of her home, one client at a time. Her work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and passion for design & building, quickly launched her into the forefront of the Saskatoon market. Through hard work and dedication, Tamara has earned the respect of the Saskatoon businesses and patrons. Built on client referrals, the company focuses on building ongoing respectful and positive relationships with it’s clients.
After opening Metric’s doors in 2011, Tamara has proudly accepted and has been a finalist for many awards. Metric was also voted ‘Best Interior Designer/ Decorator’ by Planet S Magazine since 2012, and Tamara was named the “One to Watch” by Western Living Magazine in 2013.
Dedicated to being community focused, Tamara is actively involved in many large scale community fundraisers offering countless hours as a committee member to ensure that the styling and decor is over the top and of course fantastic. Speaking of dedication, she competed and accepted a win 2 years in a row for Saskatoon’s Swinging With The Stars personally raising tens of thousands for local charities. Tamara was also an acting board member with the Downtown Business Improvement District of Saskatoon, and is adamant about making Saskatoon a great place to live.
Tamara’s Husband Cary Bowman, also an entrepreneurial spirit, co-founded and opened the Lucky Bastard Distillery in Saskatoon. Together they have two young children. Tamara considers herself a dedicated soccer mom (who’s kids don’t play soccer), as well as a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things food and drink. Tamara loves to spend her down-time with family & friends, loves traveling, dancing, and is a closet karaoke enthusiast.
